Steward's Report
The outside temperature at race start time was 33.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 20.8 degrees, and the humidity was 63.3.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Tammy Harris, the representative of Hill Top Hood regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hill Top Hood last raced on 9th September 2018.Mrs Harris stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell and a change of kennel.
A pre race sample was taken from Hill Top Hood.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr J.Donaldon pursuant to GAR 86 (ag) for transporting greyhounds in a trailer not in compliance with the requirements of a heat affected meeting and cautioned that punitive sanctions will be forthcoming for any future breaches.
Hill Top Hood was slow to begin.
Master Brett and Tinker Bess collided soon after the start. Hill Top Hood faltered at the 250m mark and subsequently pulled up. Eye Dunno and Buzz Off Mumma collided at the 250m mark. Master Brett checked off Tinker Bess at the 50m mark.
Hill Top Hood was vetted following the event. It was reported that that the greyhound sustained a right gracillis injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Bluey Can Fly was vetted following the event. It was reported that that the greyhound sustained a left pencil muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Black In Town was vetted following the event, at the trainer's request. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
