Steward's Report
The outside temperature at race start time was 33.3 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 20 degrees, and the humidity was 57.8.
Stewards spoke to Mr David Franklin, the trainer of Cullquin Panda regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cullquin Panda last raced on 16th March 20018. The greyhound ran a satisfactory trial at Cranbourne on 14th November and was cleared. Mr Franklin stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a split right metacarpal injury and a change of kennel.
A pre-race sample was taken from Cullquin Panda.
Tim Noy, trainer of Buddie's Al declared a new weight of 29.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Buddie's Al last raced at 28.2kg.
Western Bomber and Mammoth were slow to begin. Lyria and Sky Rising collided at the 250m mark. Cullquin Panda and Ebby's Plan collided at the 250m mark. Lyria and Sky Rising collided at the 50m mark. Western Bomber and Ebby’s Plan collided at the 50m mark. Buddie's Al raced wide for the entire event.
The judge incorrectly semaphored the numbers 1-2-3-8. The correct numbers 1-7-2-3 were semaphored before the all clear was given.
