A pre-race sample was taken from Digger's Cove.
The start of this event was delayed due to difficulties in the boxing of Crymelon Rip.
Strike Power checked off the heels of Through approaching the first turn, checking Strike Power. Through, Crymelon Rip and You Blue collided on the first turn, checking Crymelon Rip which collided with Strike Power; causing Strike Power and Zambora Nozie to race wide. Strike Power and Crymelon Rip collided approaching the home turn. Through raced wide on the home turn. Strike Power, Crymelon Rip and You Blue collided several times in the home straight.
Strike Power was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tail injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to handler, Mr John Weir-Smith regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Crymleon Rip. After taking evidence from Mr Weir-Smith (handler) and Mr Bruce Baxter (trainer) Stewards issued a warning to Mr Baxter, the trainer of Crymelon Rip regarding the greyhound’s boxing manners.
