Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Collyer, the representative of Alannah's Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Alannah's Gem last raced on 28th March 2018. Mr. Collyer stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a left back muscle injury. Mr. Collyer also declared a new weight of 27.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Alannah's Gem last raced at 26.1kgs.
Little Bala was slow to begin. Luna Evening and Alannah's Gem collided soon after the start checking Alannah's Gem. Birkenhead, Cersei and Little Bala collided approaching the first turn checking Birkenhead and Cersei and causing Cersei to stumble. Alannah's Gem crossed to the outside on the first turn checking Birkenhead. Alannah's Gem raced wide on the first turn and on the home turn.
Alannah's Gem was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right wrist. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
