Poppy Yaala was quick to begin.  Shanlyn Bubbles was slow to begin.  Always Alone and Hypo Charged collided soon after the start checking Hypo Charged.  Killara John faltered approaching the first turn and tailed off as a result.  Jayanti and Always Alone collided on the first turn.  Farfalla Nera and Simply Smarter collided on the first turn checking Farfalla Nera, Always Alone, Hypo Charged and Shanlyn Bubbles.

Killara John was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Killara John, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Sonny Micawber was a late scratching at 2:15pm due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Mother Monster.

Mother Monster was quick to begin.  Our Centurion was slow to begin.  Cruzin' and Dyna Drew collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Lethal Levi contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Cruzin' and Riverina Miss and severely checking Lethal Levi and Our Centurion.  Cruzin' checked off Mother Monster on the first turn checking Dyna Drew and causing Cruzin' and Dyna Drew to race wide.

Lethal Levi was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to its left hind leg.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Cruzin' performed below market expectations and was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shin.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke with Ms.N. Lund regarding the greyhound's performance.  Ms. Lund stated that the greyhound wasn't as quick out of the boxes as she had been at her previous starts and found significant interference soon after the start and on the first turn.  Stewards noted the injury sustained and Ms.Lund's explanation and deemed no further action was required.

Our Centurion was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms. O. Cartechini, the representative of Lektra Boss regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lektra Boss last raced on 19th May 2018. Ms. Cartechini stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from a right monkey muscle injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Collyer, the representative of Searching regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Searching last raced on 23rd May 2018.  Mr. Collyer stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from a left hind toe injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Buckle Up Spud.

Sppky Jooky was slow to begin.  Brandeen Bayley and Kouta And Cream collided approaching the first turn checking Brandeen Bayley.  Buckle Up Spud and Brandeen Bayley collided on the first turn checking Brandeen Bayley and Searching.  Lektra Boss checked off Brandeen Bayley on the home turn.  Penny Worth and Mousey McCoy collided approaching the winning post.

Canya Wilbur, Charlott's Angel and Penny Pop were quick to begin.  Rahni, Nitronium and Kimani collided soon after the start.  Nitronium and Kimani collided approaching the first turn checking Nitronium.  July Allen and Charlott's Angel collided on the first turn checking July Allen, Nitronium, Charlott's Angel and Penny Pop and causing Nitronium to race wide,.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 2 1/2 minutes to allow a Melton harness race to be completed.

Midnight Starlet was slow to begin.  Orson Allen, Vixstar, Panhandle Slim, My Redeemer and Undisputed collided soon after the start checking Vixstar and Panhandle Slim.  Orson Allen checked off Slingshot Hammer approaching the first turn.  My Redeemer checked off Undisputed on the first turn.  Squishy Pea and Midnight Starlet collided on the first turn checking Midnight Starlet and Panhandle Slim; Panhandle Slim stumbled as a result.  Vixstar checked off My Redeemer in the back straight.  Vixstar and Panhandle Slim collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds.

Panhandle Slim was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its right hind leg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Samples were taken from the first three placegetters in this event - Slingshot Hammer (1st), Undisputed (2nd) and Orson Allen (3rd).

Bejarano, Fat Rhino and Dewana Special were slow to begin.  Bejarano and Fat Rhino collided approaching the first turn.  My Alibi galloped on the heels of Vanishka on the first turn.  My Alibi and Mahi Indian collided approaching the home turn checking Dyna Neitz and My Alibi.

Jetson Princess was slow to begin.  Percy's Curse, Ivey's Affair and Shannon Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Ivey's Affair.  Champagne Luxe checked off Eau Rouge on the first turn checking Percy's Curse, Ivey's Affair, Shannon Allen and Elusive Anake; Ivey's Affair raced wide as a result.  Ivey's Affair raced wide in the home straight.  

Percy's Curse fell entering the catching pen and was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor laceration to the inside of its right hind paw.  No stand down period was imposed.

Ruby's Cheekstar was quick to begin.  Rodeo was slow to begin.  Ruby's Cheekstar and Faithful Hill collided on the first turn checking Faithful Hill and Temujin.  Giant Bale and Rodeo collided on the second turn checking Giant Bale.  Faithful Hill and Giant Bale collided on the third turn checking Giant Bale which stumbled as a result.

Roland View was slow to begin.  Lilty Allen and Jar Man collided soon after the start checking Lilty Allen.  Love Laughing and Atlantic Rose collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Roland View and All You Got collided approaching the home turn checking All You Got.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Collyer, the representative of Alannah's Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Alannah's Gem last raced on 28th March 2018. Mr. Collyer stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a left back muscle injury.  Mr. Collyer also declared a new weight of 27.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Alannah's Gem last raced at 26.1kgs.

Little Bala was slow to begin.  Luna Evening and Alannah's Gem collided soon after the start checking Alannah's Gem.  Birkenhead, Cersei and Little Bala collided approaching the first turn checking Birkenhead and Cersei and causing Cersei to stumble.  Alannah's Gem crossed to the outside on the first turn checking Birkenhead.  Alannah's Gem raced wide on the first turn and on the home turn.

Alannah's Gem was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right wrist.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Rory Kade was a late scratching at 2:15pm due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

This event was rescheduled to 8:49pm due to a lighting issue near the 520m boxes.

St. Pauli was quick to begin.  Cheeky Cindy was slow to begin.  Scooby Boy checked off St. Pauli on the first turn checking Buckle Up Scotch, Burnsy's Sam, In Dee Genes and Fiesty Ivy and severely checking Scooby Boy and Miz Josie.

Scooby Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to its front paws and hind legs.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Miz Josie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Smith, the representative of the greyhound Ominous Warning regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Ominous Warning last raced on 30th September 2017.  Mr. Smith stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after injuries to its left triangle muscle and left back toe and a change of kennel.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Ominous Warning trialled over the 311 metre distance from box 1, weight 32.8kgs.  The greyhound placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 17.86.  The greyhound won by a margin of 2.5 lengths.  Ominous Warning was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Imlach, the trainer of the greyhound Riclesky regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Riclesky last raced on 14th February 2018.  Mrs. Imlach stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after and injury to its hock.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Riclesky trialled over the 311 metre distance from box 7, weight 34.3kgs.  The greyhound placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 17.86.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11.75 lengths.  Riclesky was cleared.
