Steward's Report
Sonny Micawber was a late scratching at 2:15pm due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Mother Monster.
Mother Monster was quick to begin. Our Centurion was slow to begin. Cruzin' and Dyna Drew collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Lethal Levi contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Cruzin' and Riverina Miss and severely checking Lethal Levi and Our Centurion. Cruzin' checked off Mother Monster on the first turn checking Dyna Drew and causing Cruzin' and Dyna Drew to race wide.
Lethal Levi was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to its left hind leg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Cruzin' performed below market expectations and was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shin. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke with Ms.N. Lund regarding the greyhound's performance. Ms. Lund stated that the greyhound wasn't as quick out of the boxes as she had been at her previous starts and found significant interference soon after the start and on the first turn. Stewards noted the injury sustained and Ms.Lund's explanation and deemed no further action was required.
Our Centurion was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
