Steward's Report
Chum's Special was quick to begin.
Chum's Special crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Hurricane Wayne and Winlock Ludacris. Taxing and Hurricane Wayne collided soon after the start. Taxing, Hurricane Wayne and Flying Apollo collided approaching the first turn. Chum's Special raced wide on the home turn. Hurricane Wayne marred Taxing in the home straight.
Hurricane Wayne was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Glenn Dainton, the trainer of the greyhound Hurricane Wayne, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Hurricane Wayne with marring. Mr Dainton pleaded guilty to the charge, Hurricane Wayne was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
