Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kraken Rose upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Miss Gingin, Royal Solo and Oleg were slow to begin.
Dapper Diesel crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Oleg and Royal Solo. Royal Solo, Oleg and Dapper Diesel collided on the first turn. Royal Solo and Dapper Diesel collided on the second turn. Oleg checked off Blondy Two approaching the third turn, checking both greyhounds. Royal Solo, Oleg and Dapper Diesel collided in the home straight. Dapper Diesel marred Royal Solo in the home straight.
Dapper Diesel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left should muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Thorneycroft, the trainer of the greyhound Dapper Diesel, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dapper Diesel with marring. Mr Thorneycroft pleaded guilty to the charge, Dapper Diesel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
