Stoppa Bus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Thorneycroft, the trainer of the greyhound Dapper Diesel, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dapper Diesel with marring. Mr Thorneycroft pleaded guilty to the charge, Dapper Diesel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Hurricane Wayne with marring. Stewards spoke to Mr Neil Jones, the representative of Naiqama, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Naiqama last raced on 2nd May 2018. Mr Jones stated that  the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell. Mr Jones also declared a new weight of 38.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Naiqama last raced at 36.8kg.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Whalephant trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 35.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.53, the greyhound won by a margin of 3.25L. Whalephant was cleared.

Mr Divers also declared a new weight of 35.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Whalephant last raced at 37.1kg.
