Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Spolly's Jet on 24/06/19 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Rico's Amore - new declared weight of 29.8kg, last raced at 31.1kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Rico's Amore.
Midnight Marzy was slow to begin. Rico's Amore visibly eased and turned its head on the first turn severely checking Maina Honey. Spolly's Jet was checked off Wyoming Express approaching the home turn. Rico's Amore and Maina Honey collided several times approaching the home turn. Wyoming Express and Spolly's Jet collided approaching the winning post.
Rico's Amore underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right monkey muscle and right shoulder joint. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Karabitsakos regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Rico's Amore was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Karabitsakos pleaded guilty to the charge, Rico's Amore must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
