Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Aston Ledger upon arrival at the course.
Owen Money and Aston Ledger collided soon after the start. I'm Orion and Luka's Choice collided approaching the first turn. Owen Money and Aston Ledger collided on the first turn. I'm Orion galloped on the heels of Proven Legacy approaching the home turn checking Proven Legacy. I'm Orion and Owen Money collided approaching the home turn.
Luka's Choice – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
Proven Legacy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr S.Stefanos declined to have the greyhound revetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr S Stefanos, the trainer of Proven Legacy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Proven Legacy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr S Stefanos pleaded guilty to the charge, Proven Legacy is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Meeting Comments:
Emma's Not Happy – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial as the greyhound was stood down from racing at Healesville for failing to chase by reason of injury. Weighing 27.5kg and beginning from box 1, Emma's Not Happy completed the 390m trial distance in a time of 22.78. Emma's Not Happy placed 3rd in a field of four starters beaten by by 2.25 lengths. Emma's Not Happy has been cleared to race at all tracks except Healesville.
Acting under GAR 86(o) Stewards charged trainer of Emma's Not Happy, Mr David Basile in that he negligently failed to remove the collar from the greyhound and allowed it to compete with the collar on. Mr Basile pleaded guilty and was found guilty and fined $250.
