Come On Emmaline was slow to begin. Come On Emmaline, Yuko and Dr. Shreds collided approaching the first turn checking Come On Emmaline and Dr. Shreds. Small Rose and Dr. Shreds collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Shreds. Small Rose and Dyna Alia collided approaching the first turn checking Small Rose. Little Samara was checked off Stars And Lights entering the home straight checking Come On Emmaline. Stars And Lights eased and failed to pursue the lure in the home straight checking Come On Emmaline.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Berry the trainer of the greyhound Stars And Lights regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Stars And Lights was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 10, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Stars And Lights with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Berry pleaded guilty to the charge, Stars And Lights was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
