Yolk's Boy was slow to begin.
Slingshot Sassy eased and crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Banana Bubblegum, Fabulous Cash and Chief Peekay. Ain't No Love and Yolk's Boy collided approaching the first turn, checking Slingshot Sassy. Fabulous Cash and Banana Bubblegum collided on the first turn, checking Banana Bubblegum. Chief Peekay and Fabulous Cash collided approaching the home turn, checking Chief Peekay. Chief Peekay checked off Ain't No Love in the home straight.
Banana Bubblegum was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Wickham, the trainer of the greyhound Slingshot Sassy, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Slingshot Sassy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hind metatarsals, no veterinary stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Slingshot Sassy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Wickham pleaded guilty to the charge, Slingshot Sassy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
