Steward's Report

A pre race sample was taken from Matty Mateusz.

Sale Graze Bindi and Bejarano were slow to begin. Bejarano checked off Woodleigh Blue on the first turn, checking Sale Graze Bindi. Tahlia's Diamond and Lady Bullseye collided approaching the second turn, checking Tahlia's Diamond. Bejarano and Woodleigh Blue collided approaching the third turn, checking Woodleigh Blue. Lady Bullseye brushed the running rail on the fourth turn. Woodleigh Blue checked off Bejarano on the fifth turn, checking Sale Graze Bindi. Lady Ceecee and Tahlia's Diamond collided approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Lady Ceecee eased and collided with Tahlia's Diamond, entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Lady Cecee was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event seven. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

A sample was taken from Lady Bullseye - the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. Karen Leek, the trainer of the greyhound Lady Ceecee regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn and again in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Lady Ceecee with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Leek pleaded guilty to the charge, Lady Ceecee was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
