Stewards spoke to Mr Barry Harper, the trainer of Omega Vera, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Omega Vera last raced on 4 January 2018.  Mr Harper stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.

The start of this event was delayed by two minutes, due to holding for a Port Pirie harness race.

Weeona Bonnie and Special Member were slow to begin.  Princess Parker and Omega Vera collided soon after the start, checking Princess Parker, and checking Dubai Prince as a result.  Princess Parker checked off Tolga approaching the first turn.  Princess Parker and Special Member collided approaching the first turn.  Weeona Bonnie and Tolga collided on the first turn, checking Weeona Bonnie.  Dubai Prince galloped on Weeona Bonnie approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Special Member crossed to the outside on the home turn and collided with Tolga.  Weeona Bonnie and Dubai Prince collided on the home turn.

Mr Glenn Campbell, trainer of Hair Trigger, declared a new weight of 32.2 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Hair Trigger last raced at 33.8 kgs.

Lou's Dreams was quick to begin.  Ebb crossed to the inside soon after the start, causing Hair Trigger, Riccarton, Dewana Sprite and One More Light to collide; Riccarton was checked as a result.  Hair Trigger and One More Light collided on the first turn, causing One More Light to stumble; Hair Trigger and One More Light lost ground as a result.  Riccarton and Maggie Mikado collided on the first turn, checking Maggie Mikado.

Sure Load was a late scratching at 6:04 pm on Veterinary advice (GAR 37)(fleas).  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Shy Gem was quick to begin.  Mahjong World was slow to begin.  Why Not Leo went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Totally Bullish checked off Ends Well on the first turn, and collided with Why Not Leo.  Dark Star and Dr Dedra collided on the first turn.  Totally Bullish and Dark Star collided approaching the home turn.  Dr Dedra checked off Totally Bullish approaching the home turn, checking Mahjong World and Why Not Leo.

Issy Keats was quick to begin.  Seventh Cavalry was slow to begin.  Our Echo Rose and Street Artist collided soon after the start.  Issy Keats crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Alabar and Paisley.  Street Artist checked off Alonso Power on the first turn.  Paisley and Alonso Power collided on the first turn.  Seventh Cavalry checked off Miss Oreo Mac on the first turn, severely checking Our Echo Rose; Seventh Cavalry faltered and lost ground as a result.  Alonso Power and Miss Oreo Mac collided entering the home straight.

Seventh Cavalry was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg metatarsal fracture, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Alonso Power was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Gotcha Mate was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Nicky Neo was quick to begin.  Air Load was slow to begin.  Philo Bale checked off Thumb A Ride approaching the first turn, checking Dr Darkrai.  Our Delta Rose and Reatily Shintaro collided on the first turn.  Nicky Neo and Lightwood Miss collided on the first turn.  Philo Bale, Our Delta Rose and Lightwood Miss collided on the second turn.  Dr Darkrai and Lightwood Miss collided on the second turn.

Nicky Neo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound showed signs of cramping, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Dukestar was a late scratching at 6:17 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a laceration to the right hock/metatarsal.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Hello Nimble and Goorawin were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Joyce's Choice and Busta Voe collided on the first turn.  All About Arby and Hello Nimble collided on the first turn.  Busta Voe and All About Arby collided on the second turn, checking All About Arby.

Stewards spoke to Mr Pasqualino Romagnino regarding his difficulty in boxing his greyhound Hello Nimble.  Stewards directed that Hello Nimble be boxed first in future events.
