A pre-race sample was taken from Eau Rouge.
Mr Glenn Campbell, trainer of Hair Trigger, declared a new weight of 32.2 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hair Trigger last raced at 33.8 kgs.
Lou's Dreams was quick to begin. Ebb crossed to the inside soon after the start, causing Hair Trigger, Riccarton, Dewana Sprite and One More Light to collide; Riccarton was checked as a result. Hair Trigger and One More Light collided on the first turn, causing One More Light to stumble; Hair Trigger and One More Light lost ground as a result. Riccarton and Maggie Mikado collided on the first turn, checking Maggie Mikado.
