Judge Judy was slow to begin.  My Bro Lewis crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Iron Fist and Yoda.  Crymelon Annie and Track Pilot collided approaching the first turn checking Track Pilot.  Iron Fist checked off Track Pilot on the first turn checking Yoda and Judge Judy.  Yoda galloped on the heels of Crymelon Annie on the home turn causing Crymelon Annie to fall.  Iron Fist raced wide entering the home straight.

Crymelon Annie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left hind leg.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Trainer, Mr. D Jensen was reminded of his responsibilities for failing to ensure the registration papers were produced for the greyhound Big Flash Marjen, pursuant to GAR 33.  When determining the warning Stewards took into account that Mr Jensen had contacted GRV prior to arriving on track.

Miss Travers was quick to begin.  Happy Allen was slow to begin.  Big Flash Marjen and Miss Travers collided approaching the first turn checking Miss Travers.  Kracka Barcia, Iceni Sailor and Aston Kirui collided on the first turn severely checking Iceni Sailor; Iceni Sailor fell and checked Apache Oasis, Miss Travers and La Caprice as a result.  Happy Allen and La Caprice collided approaching the home turn.  Kracka Barcia and Big Flash Marjen raced wide on the home turn.

Iceni Sailor was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right scapula fracture.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Jordan, the trainer of On The Runway regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  On The Runway last raced on 25th October, 2017.  Ms. Jordan stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a left metacarpal injury.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Rocky Road and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 5:17pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. R. Hayes was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. R. Hayes regarding the late scratching of his greyhounds, Rocky Road and Klondike Gold due to weight variation.  Mr. Hayes stated that he had changed the greyhounds diet and exercise regime recently.  Mr. Hayes also stated that he does not weigh his greyhounds prior to racing and will do so in the future.  Stewards noted Mr. Hayes explanation.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Jarvis, the trainer of Fair Ride regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Fair Ride last raced on 15th December, 2017.  Mr. Jarvis stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being on season and a spell.

Fair Ride was a late scratching at 7:41pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Why Not Dean was slow to begin.  Why Not Dean, Calvin Candie and Girt By Sea collided soon after the start checking Calvin Candie.  Why Not Dean and Girt By Sea collided approaching the first turn.  Girt By Sea, Dark Star and Why Not Dean collided on the first turn.  Dark Star and Girt By Sea collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Why Not Dean became dislodged during the running of the event.

Calvin Candie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left triangle muscle.  No stand down period was imposed.

Circus Oasis trialled over the 425 metre distance from box 5, weight 32.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.90.  The greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths.  Circus Oasis was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Ms. C.
