Stewards spoke to Mr Aaron Farley, the trainer of Falling In Love regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Falling In Love last raced on 6 November 2018 and is returning to racing following a left front sesamoid injury and a change of kennel.

Peaked was quick to begin.  Tarquin Bob was slow to begin.

Destiny's Child checked off Peaked on the first turn. Janray Squawker, Final Chimes and Falling In Love collided on the first turn checking Janray Squawker and Tarquin Bob; severely checking Final Chimes and Falling In Love. Final Chimes, Tory's Rocket and Falling In Love collided entering the back straight.  Tory's Rocket checked off Falling In Love on the second turn.  Janray Squawker raced wide on the second turn.  

Janray Squawker was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right groin injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Final Chimes was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A sample was taken from One More Light - winner of the event.

Burning Steel went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  All In and Contagious Miss were slow to begin.

Tail Inspector and Promiscuous collided approaching the first turn checking Tail Inspector.  All In galloped on Lightfoot Lass on the first turn checking All in.  Promiscuous checked off All In approaching the home turn causing Promiscuous and Burning Steel to race wide. Contagious Miss and Lightfoot Lass collided approaching the home turn checking Lightfoot Lass.  Hurricane Billie and Just Won Lotto collided several times approaching the home turn checking Just Won Lotto and causing Hurricane Billie to fall; Contagious Miss was severely inconvenienced and lost considerable ground, checking Tail Inspector, Lightfoot Lass and All in. Promiscuous and Burning Steel raced wide as a result of the fallen greyhound.  

Hurricane Billie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

After reviewing all available video footage, Stewards considered that Contagious Miss did not have clear galloping room as Hurricane Bille fell, causing the greyhound to ease to avoid a collision. Given the circumstances, Stewards could not be satisfied on this occassion that a failing to chase charge was appropriate and took no further action on this occasion. 

A sample was taken from Just Won Lotto, the winner of the event. 

Psychedelic Jay and Little Freck collided on the first turn.  Fourth Dimention and Fabulous Gee collided on the first turn.  Little Freck and Woodleigh Guy collided approaching the second turn.  Fourth Dimention and Fabulous Gee collided entering the back straight.  Fabulous Gee and Psychedelic Jay collided approaching the third turn.  Fourth Dimention, Fabulous Gee and Woodleigh Guy collided on the third turn causing Fabulous Gee to gallop on Fourth Dimention severely checking both greyhounds, Little Freck was checked as a result.  Fourth Dimention and Fabulous Gee collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight severely checking Fourth Dimention which stumbled.  

Little Freck was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left foreleg behind the elbow, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Psychedelic Jay - winner of the event.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr John Peterson the handler of Little Freck after the greyhound was placed in the incorrect kennel following the event. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Liberty Sage.

Dr. Marshmellow was slow to begin. Papa Duncs, Killara John and Lieu Knee Annie collided soon after the start.  Liberty Sage and Pappa's Pride crossed in approaching the first turn and collided.  Killara John and Eden Monaro collided in the back straight.  Misty's Boy and Liberty Sage collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Lieu Knee Annie galloped on Papa Duncs approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. 

A pre-race sample was taken Rusty Mia.

Dr. Poppel and Dr. Toretto were slow to begin.

Summer Kate, Galloping Ashley and Rusty Mia collided soon after the start checking Fiery Miss and severely checking Summer Kate and Dr. Poppel.  Fairy Where crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Galloping Ashley, Rusty Mia, All About Arby and severely checking Summer Kate and Fiery Miss.  Dr. Toretto galloped on Fiery Miss on the second turn checking both greyhound.  Fiery Miss and Dr. Poppel collided approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zambora Jagger.

Parie Shiraz, Zambora Jagger and Persuader were slow to begin.

Zambora Jagger clipped the heels of Holyfield approaching the first turn.  Holyfield, Dukestar and Dr. Jezabel collided approaching the first turn checking Dr, Jezabel and Holyfield.  Dr, Jezabel and Holyfield collided in the back straight.  Holyfield checked off Zambora Jagger in the back straight.  Persuader faltered on the second turn checking Parie Shiraz, Persuader subsequently tailed off.  Dukestar and On The Rebound collided approaching the winning post.

Persuader was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock and was humanely euthanised. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr John Boreland after he arrived late to the kennels to prepare Zambora Jagger for this event. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Wiggle Emma.

Wiggle Emma was quick to begin.

Lightning Lil checked off Sir Badger on the first turn.  Long Live Sid checked off Dr. Shreds on the first turn causing Shrek's Typhoon and Spritely Malibu to collide.  Long Live Sid galloped on Dr. Gidget in the back straight.  Sir Badger, Long Live Sid and Shrek's Typhoon collided on the second turn.  Long Live Sid galloped on Shrek's Typhoon on the second turn checking Long Live Sid, Shrek's Typhoon and Lightning Lil.

A pre-race sample was taken from Boycey Road.

Vane Power and Stir Fry Shrimp collided soon after the start.  Middle Trucker crossed out soon after the start and collided with Lopsided and Boycey Road.  Middle Trucker and Boycey Road collided approaching the first turn. Ends Well and Brindle Bay collided approaching the first turn checking Ends Well. Stir Fry Shrimp and Ends Well collided on the first turn. Lopsided checked off Ends Well on the third turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Maireana.

Dorset Dasha was slow to begin.

Maireana and Mia Shan collided soon after the start checking Maireana.  Barnie's Bullet crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Remo Gully and Caidan Marlo.  Barnie's Bullet eased on the first turn.  Evie Louise checked off Unique Spirit on the first turn causing Dorset Dasha and Mia Shan to race wide.

Barnie's Bullet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Fulford, the handler of the greyhound Barnie's Bullet regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Barnie's Bullet with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Fulford pleaded not guilty to the charge, Barnie's Bullet was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Iggy Wiggy.

Hello Mr Duck and Rooey were slow to begin.

Kev's Choice and Kayla Las collided on the first turn checking Kev's Choice and severely checking Rooey; Rooey raced wide as a result.  Kayla Las and Hello Mr Duck collided approaching the home turn.  Iggy Wiggy checked off Able Bess approaching the winning.  

Stewards spoke to Ms Lauren Dalziel, the handler of Iggy Wiggy regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound. Stewards directed that Iggy Wiggy be boxed first in future events.

Mr David Graham, the trainer of Rozehill Beth declared a new weight of 28.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rozehill Beth last raced at 27.1kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Brindle Ninja.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to Canberra Harness.

Itz Hooroo Adios checked off Rozehill Beth approaching the first turn.  Itz Hooroo Adios and Beluga Diamond collided on the first turn checking Itz Hooroo Adios.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Two Toes Tony.

Peter's Pride was quick to begin. Kilty Jewel was slow to begin.  

No Guarantees and Bomber Lane collided soon after the start.  Fallen Star, No Guarantees and Bomber Lane collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Kilty Jewel, Two Toes Tony and Peter's Pride collided on the first turn checking Two Toes Tony and Peter's Pride.  Kilty Jewel raced wide on the first turn.

Peter's Pride was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

SATISFACTORY TRIALS:

Hurricane Cindy trialled over the 315m from box 1, weight 26.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.31, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 15.5 lengths. Hurricane Cindy was Cleared. 

Hurricane Brad trialled over the 315m from box 5, weight 31.9kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.31, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 22 lengths. Hurricane Brad was Not Cleared. 

Mandela Sun trialled over the 315m from box 2, weight 34.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.31, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75 lengths. Mandel Sun was Cleared and Cleared to race in a right blinker. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs Dawn Johnston, the trainer of Alabar regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Alabar last raced on 11 May 2017. Mrs Johnston stated that the greyhound was returning from a right wrist injury and a chance of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Alabar trialled over the 315m from box 8, weight 33.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.31, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75 lengths. Alabar was Cleared.

 Alabar was vetted following the trial. It was reported that no apparent injury was found.
