Libby's Dream was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Crack, the representative of the greyhound Poppy's Way regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Poppy's Way with marring. Mr Crack pleaded guilty to the charge, Poppy's Way was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Why Not Leo was quick to begin.

Pacific Beach crossed in approaching the first turn checking Regal Tycoon.  Let Him Ride checked off Why Not Leo on the first turn causing Let Him Ride to fall and causing the muzzle to become dislodged, Regal Tycoon and Hypo Chared raced wide as result.  Why Not Leo and Beljay Galaxy collided approaching the winning post checking Beljay Galaxy.  

Let Him Ride was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left thigh injury and an abrasion to the left medial metatarsal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr T. Collins regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Hello Bomber. Stewards directed that Hello Bomber be boxed first in future events.

Stewards noted that the race rug of number 4 shifted up on the greyhound and the number 4 was not clearly visible throughout the running of the event.

Ms C. Barnard, trainer of Mrs. Jawa declared a new weight of 25.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mrs. Jawa last raced at 27.0kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mr A. Gringhuis, the trainer of Indira's Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Indira's Girl last raced on 31 August 2017. Mr Gringhuis stated that the greyhound was returning from a seasonal spell.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Ms D. White approached stewards during kennelling advising them that her property was broken into last night (23/1/18). Ms White assured Stewards that her two greyhounds engaged in tonight’s meeting were not accessible and acting upon this assurance Stewards permitted both greyhounds to start. Stewards have passed on this information to the relevant departments for further investigation.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Gats As Promised trialled over the 311mtrs from box 8, weight 24.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.94, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7 3/4 lengths.  Gats As Promised was Cleared.
