Jagger Circuit, Psychedelic Jay and Libby's Dream were slow to begin.
Waltz On Bye and Psychedelic Jay collided soon after the start checking Psychedelic Jay. Elle Est Bonne and Poppy's Way collided approaching the first turn checking Poppy's Way. Still Quick and Poppy's Way collided approaching the first turn checking Still Quick. Waltz On Bye checked off Violet Sky in the back straight. Violet Sky raced wide in the back straight. Libby's Dream faltered on the third turn. Poppy's Way marred Still Quick in the home straight. Poppy’s Way eased approaching the winning post.
Libby's Dream was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Poppy's Way was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind leg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr L. Crack, the representative of the greyhound Poppy's Way regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Poppy's Way with marring. Mr Crack pleaded guilty to the charge, Poppy's Way was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
