Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Bartlett, the trainer of Knuckles regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Knuckles last raced on 12th October 2017. Mr. Bartlett stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a seasonal spell.
A pre-race sample was unable to be taken from Knuckles, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Dallas Fernando and Gypsy Kiowa were quick to begin. Neb's Shark and Bluey Can Fly were slow to begin. Almani Tee Rex and Bluey Can Fly collided approaching the first turn. Vapouriser, Almani Tee Rex, Bluey Can Fly and Potere collided on the first turn checking Almani Tee Rex, Bluey Can Fly and Potere. Bluey Can Fly galloped on the heels of Almani Tee Rex approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Vapouriser marred the running of Knuckles in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds.
Vapouriser was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Conway, the trainer of the greyhound Vapouriser regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Vapouriser with marring. Mr. Conway pleaded not guilty to the charge. Vapouriser was found guilty and Stewards suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
