Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dimitri Bale upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Allen Kelvin was slow to begin.
Dyna Gavin crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Allen Optic. Allen Optic and Allen Kelvin collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Kouta Gold raced wide on the first turn and collided with Taylor Bale on several occassions, checking both greyhounds. Cosmic Coaster and Dimitri Bale collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Kouta Gold checked off the heels of Dyna Gavin on the third turn. Allen Kelvin and Allen Optic collided in the home straight.
Kouta Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke with Mr D Chapman regarding the racing manners of Kouta Gold rounding the first turn, After taking evidence from Mr Chapman, viewing the official replays and acting on their own observations Stewards issued a warning to D Chapman, the kennel representative for Kouta Gold, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.
