The start of this event was delayed by approx 8 minutes due to the boxes failing to open.  All dogs were revetted and all trainers were given the option to scratch their greyhounds

Lonnie Lad, Jake Of Carson and Ace Gone Wild were slow to begin.  Fairy Vixen, Lonnie Lad, Jake Of Carson and Milla Rose collided approaching the first turn checking Fairy Vixen and Lonnie Lad.  Fairy Vixen checked off Milla Rose on the first turn.  Jake Of Carson,Milla Rose and Ace Gone Wild collided approaching the home turn checking Milla Rose and Ace Gone Wild.

Following the event Starter,  Mr. G. Brown advised the Steward at the boxes that he believed that the box lids were slow to open.  Prior to giving the all clear the video footage of the race was examined and it was established that the boxes opened correctly and the all clear was given.  Representative of a greyhound engaged in the event S. Chignell approached Stewards and reported an incident that occurred following the event.  As a result of this Stewards spoke to Mrs. C. Abela, Starter Mr. G. Brown and the Steward at the boxes Mr. R. Petterson.  Stewards will make further enquiries in due course with all other handlers in the race as all had left the course prior to the inquiry.

Following the event Stewards established that the greyhound Maximum Babe stayed in the boxes. 

Maximum Babe was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. C. Abela the representative of the greyhound Maximum Babe.  Stewards deemed that the greyhound Maximum Babe took no competitive part in the event. Under normal circumstances the greyhound would be charged with failing to chase.  However, taking into consideration the false start Stewards believe that the charge of an unsatisfactory performance was appropriate and the greyhound will have to undergo a Satisfactory Trial.
