Steward's Report
Usain Gilbert and Trianna collided soon after the start checking Usain Gilbert. Mac and Conclusive collided soon after the start checking Mac. Blue Not Black crossed in on the first turn checking Tumble And Dry. Mac galloped on Tumble And Dry on the first turn checking Mac. Conclusive galloped on Trianna on the first turn checking Usain Gilbert and Conclusive severely checking Trianna. Mint Burst clipp0ed the heels of Blue Not Black on the first turn checking Blue Not Black Blue Not Black crossed to the outside entering the home straight checking Patchie Thief. Blue Not Black raced erractically in the home straight and collided with Tumble And Dry.
Blue Not Black was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind toes. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Blue Not Black regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and again entering the home straight. After viewing the race footage and taking into account the interference the greyhound suffered on the first turn, Stewards issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners at this point. In relation to the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight, Stewards took no further action.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Track Report - Track Curator Mr. M. McQuillen advised stewards that the track was deeply harrowed on Wednesday 20th September, 2017.
