Ancarian Lancer and Captain Universe were slow to begin. Ancarian Lancer checked off Pure Cascade soon after the start. Billy Deeds checked off Levator Scapulae soon after the start. Chordette checked off Aston Amo approaching the first turn, checking Chordette. Levator Scapulae checked off Aston Amo approaching the home turn. Chordette, Billy Deeds and Captain Universe raced wide on the home turn. Levator Scapulae tired approaching the winning post.

Levator Scapulae was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left foreleg. No stand down period was imposed. 

A sample was taken from Billy Deeds - the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Tabb regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Levator Scapulae.  Stewards directed that Levator Scapulae be boxed first in future events.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Pursell after the greyhound Billy Deeds was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr. Pursell was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure. 

Stewards spoke to kennel attendants, Mr. T. Dempsey and Mr. J. Hazelman, after the greyhound Billy Deeds was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Both attendants were reminded of their responsibilities and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
