Track Curator Mr. T. Dempsey advised stewards that the track was lightly harrowed on 30th August 2017.

The start of this event was delayed approximately 1 minute due to Carnavron Gallops race 7 running behind schedule.

Kaelyn Bale and For Valour were slow to begin. He's Not Shifty checked off Crocodile Dunphy soon after the start. Kaelyn Bale checked off For Valour approaching the first turn. Kaelyn Bale eased approaching the first turn. Cruisy's Angle checked off Gray Bale approaching the first turn. Crocodile Dunphy checked off Cruisy's Angle on the first turn, checking Crocodile Dunphy. Cruisy's Angle, Cruising Stella and He's Not Shifty collided approaching the home turn, severely checking He's Not Shifty. Cruising Stella checked off Crocodile Dunphy entering the home straight.

Kaelyn Bale was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event three. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Loverso, the handler of the greyhound Kaelyn Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Kaelyn Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge, Kaelyn Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ancarian Lancer and Captain Universe were slow to begin. Ancarian Lancer checked off Pure Cascade soon after the start. Billy Deeds checked off Levator Scapulae soon after the start. Chordette checked off Aston Amo approaching the first turn, checking Chordette. Levator Scapulae checked off Aston Amo approaching the home turn. Chordette, Billy Deeds and Captain Universe raced wide on the home turn. Levator Scapulae tired approaching the winning post.

Levator Scapulae was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left foreleg. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Tabb regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Levator Scapulae.  Stewards directed that Levator Scapulae be boxed first in future events.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Pursell after the greyhound Billy Deeds was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr. Pursell was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure. 

Stewards spoke to kennel attendants, Mr. T. Dempsey and Mr. J. Hazelman, after the greyhound Billy Deeds was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Both attendants were reminded of their responsibilities and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration. 

Latissimus Dorsi was very slow to begin (3 Lengths). Latissimus Dorsi checked off Eire Bale approaching the first turn, checking Latissimus Dorsi. Trew Danger and Dorrigo Bale collided on the first turn. Trew Danger and Dorrigo Bale collided several times from approaching the home turn to the home turn.

Eire Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hindleg. No stand down period was imposed.

Gomez Sanchez was quick to begin. Spudtacular and Henderson collided soon after the start, checking Henderson. Meila Allen checked off Little Toby soon after the start. Meila Allen and Henderson collided on the first turn. Jet Blaster checked off Ronray Destiny approaching the home turn. Henderson crossed to the outside on the home turn and raced wide. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Reid after the greyhound  Ronray Destiny was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr. Reid was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure.

Grandis was slow to begin. Freakish Flash crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Iona Express and Bugs Boloney. Iona Express and Gehring Bale collided on the first turn, and again approaching the home turn. Blackpool Alexis and Freakish Flash collided several times in the home straight. Gehring Bale checked off Grandis in the home straight. Iona Express checked off Blackpool Alexis approaching the winning post.

A sample was taken from West On Xandi - the winner of the event. 

Allen Kelvin was very slow to begin (2 Lengths). Rellim Diesel checked off Flat Twin soon after the start. Rockstar Max, Zippy Daph and Flat Twin collided approaching the first turn, checking Flat Twin. Zippy Daph and Allen Kelvin collided on the first turn, checking Zippy Daph and Flat Twin. Allen Kelvin and Rellim Diesel collided on the first turn. Rockstar Max and Allen Kelvin collided approaching the home turn. Flat Twin and Rellim Diesel collided several times entering the home straight.

Rellim Diesel was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A sample was taken from Big Flood - the winner of the event. 

An Out of Competition urine sample was taken from Lektra Boss on Thursday 31st August 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Pursell, kennel representative of Traveller's Joy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Traveller's Joy last raced on 13th May 2017. Mr Pursell stated that the greyhound is returing to racing from a right foreleg toe injury. Mr. Pursell also declared a new weight of 28.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2), last raced at 27.8kg.

Landmark was slow to begin. Pistol Nite checked off Let's Run approaching the first turn. Landmark and Showtime Mystery collided on the first turn. Pistol Nite and Thunder Of Sky collided approaching the home turn, checking Pistol Nite. Thunder Of Sky and Showtime Mystery collided on the home turn.

Mepunga Bonnie was slow to begin. Ima Terror checked off Dyna Neitz approaching the first turn. King Of Merrimu checked off Hit Me Up on the first turn, checking Riverdale Banjo and Hit Me Up. Dyna Neitz checked off Isen Allen on the home turn, checking King Of Merrimu. Mepunga Bonnie and Hit Me Up collided on the home turn. Mepunga Bonnie and Ima Terror collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Barbara, trainer of Lektra Timon regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lektra Timon last raced on 9th May 2017. Mr Barbara stated that the greyhound is returing to racing after having a left foreleg toe removed.

A pre race sample was taken from Lektra Timon. 

Campari Lad was slow to begin. Magic Reindeer and Campari Lad collided soon after the start. Suspicious Lee and Magic Reindeer collided soon after the start. Riverdale Sugar, Marlow's Angel and Lektra Timon collided approaching the first turn, checking Marlow's Angel, which lost ground as a result. Marlow's Angel checked off Campari Lad on the home turn, checking Suspicious Lee. Big End and Lektra Timon collided in the home straight. 

A pre race sample was taken from Cataleya.

Amlin's Magic, Rose Of Dyanna and Paddy's Midnight collided soon after the start, checking Rose Of Dyanna and Amlin's Magic. Mousey McCoy, Kate's Boy, Standing Bear, Cataleya, Spring Alis and Paddy's Midnight collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Standing Bear and Cataleya. Standing Bear and Rose Of Dyanna collided on the first turn, checking Rose Of Dyanna. Paddy's Midnight checked off the heels of Spring Alis approaching the home turn. Kate's Boy and Amlin's Magic collided approaching the home turn. Kate's Boy checked off the heels of Amlin's Magic on the home turn.
