Kouta Gold was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr D. Chapman, Representative for the greyhound, Kouta Gold.  Acting under GAR 69(1), Stewards charged Kouta Gold with marring.  Mr Chapman pleaded not guilty to the charge, Kouta Gold was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Whilst the dogs were enroute to the starting boxes, several sections of lights failed around the track.  Stewards were satisfied that with the majority of the lights being active and with the level of daylight still remaining, Stewards were of the opinion that the running of the race would not be affected.
