Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Stevens, the trainer of Rasleigh Banser regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rasleigh Banser last raced on 9th May 2017. Mr. Stevens stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after having weight issues.
Mr. W. Stevens, trainer of Rasleigh Banser declared a new weight of 34.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rasleigh Banser last raced at 36.1kgs.
A pre race sample was taken from Rasleigh Banser.
Mella Moo and Tahlia's Diamond were slow to begin. Rasleigh Banser and Salty Pat collided approaching the first turn. Lakeview Maisey eased approaching the first turn. Mella Moo checked off Lakeview Maisey on the first turn. Gambler's Loot and Tahlia's Diamond collided on the first turn checking Gambler's Loot. Tahlia's Diamond checked off Rasleigh Banser approaching the home turn. Lakeview Maisey raced wide approaching the home turn. Gambler's Loot checked off Tahlia's Diamond in the home straight. Lakeview Maisey raced wide in the home straight.
Lakeview Maisey was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a graze on the left hock. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Whelan the representative of the greyhound Lakeview Maisey regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Lakeview Maisey with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Whelan pleaded guilty to the charge. Lakeview Maisey was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
