My Wrecker was a late scratching at 09:48am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Garry Harding, was fined the sum of $100.
Stewards spoke to Mr John Carr, the trainer of Midnight Flynn, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Midnight Flynn last raced at Shepparton on 17 August, 2017 and is returning after an injury to the right wrist.

Diligent Miss and Your Shout Punk collided soon after the start. Midnight Flynn, Oaklands, Diligent Miss, Your Shout Punk and Uncatchable collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Oaklands and Your Shout Punk. Oaklands and Your Shout Punk collided at the 250m mark, checking both greyhounds; Your Shout Punk faltered and lost ground as a result. Sleeping Sick and Diligent Miss collided at the 200m mark. Midnight Flynn galloped on Diligent Miss approaching the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds. Midnight Flynn and Oaklands collided at the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds.
