Steward's Report
Tayla's Banjo was withdrawn from this event on the 25 November 2017 by order of stewards.
Early Special was slow to begin.
My Name's David and Wicked Tuna collided soon after the start. Scooby Boy and Why Not Senor collided approaching the 300m mark. Early Special and Rurik collided at the 200m mark. Sargent and Wicked Tuna collided at the 150m mark.
Stewards questioned licensed Catcher, Ms Tamara Cornell and registered Trainer, Mr Simon Barker (representing Trainer - V Weisener), following the failure of greyhound, Rurik, being caught for this event. After taking evidence from both Ms Cornell and Mr Barker, Stewards charged Ms Cornell pursuant to GAR 86(o) for negligently failing to catch the greyhound at the conclusion of the event. Ms. Cornell pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended for one month, effective midnight 26 November 2017. Stewards, in determining their decision, took into account the previous history of Ms Cornell's failure to catch greyhounds on a number of occasions.
