Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Nangar Range.
Nangar Range, Pat Me Again and Supraspinatus collided soon after the start, checking Nangar Range and Supraspinatus. Serious Bolt checked off Autocrat at the 300m mark and crossed to the outside. Nangar Range and Pat Me Again collided approaching the 250m mark. Nangar Range checked off Pat Me Again at the 250m mark. Splash Of Blue eased and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment from the 50m mark to the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Garry Selkrig, the trainer of the greyhound Splash Of Blue, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners from the 50m mark to the winning post. Splash Of Blue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle, a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Splash Of Blue with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Selkrig pleaded guilty to the charge, Splash Of Blue was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
