Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Riverside Kim.
Fiesty Ivy was quick to begin. He Shall Peter was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Mystic Powers, Nitro Hook and Coolan Man were slow to begin. Coolan Man clipped the heels of Nitro Hook approaching the first turn. Mystic Powers and Nitro Hook collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Nitro Hook which stumbled. Good Odds Jet and Rhyan's Return collided on the first turn. Rhyan's Return and Mystic Powers collided approaching the home turn. He Shall Peter raced wide approaching the home turn. Good Odds Jet raced wide approaching the home turn checking Rhyan's Return and Mystic Powers. Mystic Powers crossed to the rail entering the home straight, severely checking Coolan Man. He Shall Peter raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Hardy, Trainer of Mystic Powers, regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound. Stewards directed that Mystic Powers be boxed first in future events.
Meeting Comments:
Stewards were advised by track curator T. Godfrey that the track was rotary hoed on Thursday 21 September 2017.
Satisfactory Trials results - Nareen trialled over the 311m from Box 8, weight 29.5kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.22, the greyhound won by a margin of .25. Nareen was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Graham, the trainer of Woodleigh Girl regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Woodleigh Girl last raced on 1 March 2017 and is returning after a seasonal spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Woodleigh Girl trialled over the 311m from Box 5, weight 25.8kg , the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.22, the greyhound was beated by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Woodleigh Girl was cleared.
