Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to G. Carter, the trainer of Why Not Dawn regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Why Not Dawn last raced on 8 June 2017 and is returning after season spell. Mr. Carter also declared a new weight of 28.3 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Why Not Dawn last raced at 27.0.

A pre-race sample was taken from Why Not Dawn.

Rodeo, Flying Danger, Red Hot Fox and Hello Bomber were slow to begin.  Pia and Rodeo collided approaching the first turn.  Rodeo and Flying Danger collided approaching the first turn.  Why Not Dawn, Zinda Neveelk, Red Hot Fox and Hello Bomber collided on the first turn checking Zinda Neveelk and Hello Bomber.  Red Hot Fox and Hello Bomber collided approaching the home turn.  Zinda Neveelk and Red Hot Fox collided in the home straight.

Hello Bomber was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left wrist, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
