Bound Afer Gold was quick to begin. Sammi Jay and My Name's Ned collided approaching the first turn. Swift Knockout, Serious Secret and Kraken Betty collided approaching the first turn. Sammi Jay galloped on the heels of My Name's Ned on the first turn; Sammi Jay fell as a result. Swift Knockout and Storm Of All collided several times in the home straight.
Sammi Jay was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to its left and right hind legs and injuries to its left flexor tendon, right thigh and left sartorius muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
