Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Doige, the trainer of Ishmy Sooty regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ishmy Sooty last raced on 16th June 2017. Mr. Doige stated that Ishmy Sooty was returning to race after recovering from surgery.
Later Skaters and Liscoyle Lass were quick to begin. Whipstick Indi and Parvati Grange collided soon after the start. Senor Sensation and Hillbilly Kisses collided soon after the start. Mariah's Moon and Senor Sensation collided approaching the first turn. Later Skaters and Whipstick Indi collided approaching the first turn. Whipstick Indi checked off Later Skaters on the first turn. Whipstick Indi, Liscoyle Lass and Hillbilly Kisses collided on the first turn checking Mariah's Moon. Senor Sensation and Hillbilly Kisses collided approaching the home turn. Later Skaters eased on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Boots, the trainer of the greyhound Later Skaters regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Later Skaters was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left stopper and right hind toe and an injury to its right wrist. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Later Skaters with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Boots pleaded guilty to the charge. Later Skaters was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
