Steward's Report
This event was delayed by approximately 3 minutes to allow for a Pinjarra harness race to be completed.
Storming Alley was a late scratching at 6:41pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration to its left front leg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Pavarotti was quick to begin. Masked Belle and Little Sidey were slow to begin. Mac's Intention and Run Tom Run collided soon after the start. Mac's Intention, Run Tom Run and Caitlin Louise collided approaching the first turn. Mac's Intention and Run Tom Run collided on the first turn. Masked Belle and Caitlin Louise collided on the home turn. Run Tom Run eased in the home straight and collided with Pavarotti.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Van Taarling, the trainer of the greyhound Run Tom Run regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Run Tom Run was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor split webbing to its left hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Run Tom Run with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Van Taarling pleaded guilty to the charge. Run Tom Run was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
