Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Logistic Kid.
Showtime Chevi, Razzle Oak, Cass' Cass and Atlas Roughead collided soon after the start checking Showtime Chevi. Groucho and Krank Panda collided soon after the start. Taltarni Shiraz, Razzle Oak and Cass' Cass collided approaching the first turn checking Taltarni Shiraz which collided with Showtime Chevi. Showtime Chevi and Taltarni Shiraz collided on the first turn severely checking Taltarni Shiraz. Cass' Cass and Groucho collided approaching the home turn. Atlas Roughead and Logistic Kid collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking Atlas Roughead.
Taltarni Shiraz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing left fore foot. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting Comments:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P.Ellis, the trainer of Pepper Shiraz regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Pepper Shiraz last raced on 12th January 2017. Mr Ellis stated that the greyhound was resuming from being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Pepper Shiraz trialled over the 425m from box 1, weight 27.6kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.95, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25L. Pepper Shiraz was cleared.
