Stewards spoke to Mr Nathan Weir, the representative of Seven Shadows, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Seven Shadows last raced on 29 March 2017 and is returning after a right hock injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr Dale Batten, the trainer of Dodge Ball, regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the conclusion of the event. After viewing all available footage, Stewards established that the actions in question occured past the winning post. Sewards took no further action.

Stewards spoke to Mr Leon Lacy, the trainer of How's It Burning, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. How's It Burning last raced on 19 April 2017 and is returning after a change of kennels and a seasonal spell.

Alyssa Rose and It Is Done collided soon after the start. Way Things Are checked off How's It Burning at the 300m mark. Mister Pickles and Castilleja collided at the 300m mark and again at the 250m mark. Alyssa Rose and It Is Done collided several times from the 300m mark to approaching the 200m mark. Mr Alan Marum, trainer of Proven Chat, declared a new weight of 30.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Proven Chat last raced at 32.4kg.

Stewards established that Proven Chat turned in the boxes. Acting under GAR 52(1) Proven Chat was placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks).

Stewards reminded Ms Noreen Petts of her responsibilities after she failed to catch the greyhound Tip Toe after being engaged by trainer Mr Kenneth Howat. 

Mr Glenn Maxwell, owner of Midfield Maestro, declared a new weight of 28.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Midfield Maestro last raced at 29.2kg.

Gabonia was slow to begin.

Blue Squirrel and Gabonia collided soon after the start. Stroke Of Genius and Tat Minnie collided at the 300m mark. Sorry Maurie, Tat Minnie and Midfield Maestro collided at the 50m mark.

Stewards spoke to Ms Glenda Buchanan, the trainer of Sally Gardens, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sally Gardens last raced on 5 April 2017 and is returning after a right back muscle injury.

Sally Gardens was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gracilis (back) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Due to a delay at Taree thouroughbreds, this race was moved to SKY2.

Walkin' The Walk and Beer On Tap were slow to begin.

William Cabang and Grooven Chris collided at the 300m mark. Justa Jezza checked off Miss Houdini at the 250m mark.

Dynamite Dozer was quick to begin. Last Outlaw was slow to begin.

Roman Around and Ginger Warrior collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark. Last Outlaw checked off Daryl Dixon at the 250m mark. Last Outlaw marred Daryl Dixon from the 200m mark to the 50m mark, checking Daryl Dixon and Tai Chi Mini.

Last Outlaw was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr Malcolm Davis, the Trainer of the greyhound Last Outlaw, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners from the 200m mark to the 50m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Last Outlaw with marring. Mr Davis pleaded guilty to the charge, Last Outlaw was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Okay Alpha was slow to begin.

MEETING COMMENTS

Stewards were advised by track curator Mr B Mulligan that the track was lightly harrowed and graded on Monday 17 July 2017.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr David Jensen, the representative of Superior Zoe, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Superior Zoe last raced on 8th January 2017. Mr Jensen stated that Superior Zoe had been spelling. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Superior Zoe trialled over the 300m from box one, weight 28.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.96, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75L. Superior Zoe was cleared.
