Stewards spoke to Mr. S Baldwin, lure driver regarding the positioning of the lure appraoching the home turn and in the home straight. Mr. Baldwin stated that he believed the greyhound positioned in 2nd place was gaining ground on the leader quicker than it was, which resulted in Mr. Baldwin anticipating the lure position prematurely. Stewards noted Mr. Baldwin's explanation and took no further action. 

Stewards spoke to Mr J.Borg, the trainer of You Can Jive regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. You Can Jive last raced on 12th December, 2015 and is returning to racing after a season. 

Gunnewin, Rubba Wilson, Ultimate Paddy and Aston Kody collided soon after the start, checking Rubba Wilson, Ultimate Paddy and Classic Moments. Quink, Skyes Apprentice, Lonnie Lad and She's Got Grace collided on the first turn, severely checking She's Got Grace, which collided with Where's Dex Star, La Flair and All Inn Tops, severely checking All Inn Tops, and causing La Flair to fall. Quink and Skyes Apprentice collided approaching the home turn. Hammer Hawke galloped on the heels of Lonnie Lad on the home turn. Firebomb was vetted following the event. It was reported that the sustained scratches to the right hind limb, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr S.Daniliuk, the trainer of Break The Code regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Break The Code last raced on 6th January, 2016 and is returning to racing after sustaining an injury to the right front flexor tendon. 

My Renson was slow to begin. Break The Code was quick to begin. Zuletta and Cape Cruiser collided soon after the start, checking Zuletta. Magical Bling and True Value collided soon after the start, checking Magical Bling. Zuletta and My Renson collided approaching the first turn, checking Zuletta. Cosmic Spur, Shiny Lad and Louisiana Lil collided approaching the first turn. Cosmic Spur and All Inn Together collided on the first turn. Jalapeno Flash checked off Same Day on the first turn. Shiny Lad and Jalapeno Flash collided approaching the home turn. All Inn Together and Cosmic Spur collided approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Jalapeno Flash checked off Same Day in the home straight. 

Lovey was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle and spike wounds to the left fore paw, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. E. Hamilton, the trainer of Brahma's Pride regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Brahma's Pride last raced on 12th September, 2015. Mr. Hamilton stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Brahma's Pride trialled over the 390m from box two, weight 28.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.76, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.75 lengths. Brahma's Pride was Cleared.
