Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Johnson, the trainer of Snow Boots regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Snow Boots last raced on 17th December, 2015. Mr. Johnson stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell.
Argyle Lucifer was slow to begin.
Lloyd Christmas, Interlaken, Matt Machine, Sinister Strike and Delcorn Potts collided soon after the start checking Matt Machine, Lloyd Christmas and Sinister Strike. Interlaken, Delcorn Potts and Snow Boots collided approaching the first turn checking Delcorn Potts. Lloyd Christmas and Matt Machine collided approaching the first turn. Snow Boots eased on the first turn severely checking Sinister Strike. Lloyd Christmas checked off Matt Machine approaching the home turn. Interlaken and Matt Machine collided approaching the home turn.
Sinster Strike was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Snow Boots was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. Mr L Johnson, trainer of Snow Boots, declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr L Johnson, the trainer of the greyhound Snow Boots regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Snow Boots with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Johnson pleaded guilty to the charge, Snow Boots was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Samples were taken from the first and second placegetters - Argyle Lucifer (1st) and Matt Machine (2nd).
