Tobacco Leaf and Charli Tee collided soon after the start.  Tobacco Leaf, Charli Tee and Counting Pennies collided approaching the first turn checking Charli Tee.  Dyna Orenthal checked off Oshkosh Yobbo on the first turn.  Charli Tee checked off Tobacco Leaf severely checking Charli Tee which raced wide as a result, severely checking Verne Allen and checking Annie Lava.  Dyna Orenthal checked off Daicos on the second turn.  Dyna Orenthal, Verne Allen and Annie Lava collided on the third turn checking Verne Allen and Annie Lava.  Verne Allen and Annie Lava collided on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Counting Pennies and Daicos collided in the home straight.

Annie Lava was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right deltoid injuries, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Latifi Nick Nack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle and left trapezius injuries, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Magenta Gold - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr P. Presutto, the trainer of Magneta Gold, after Magneta Gold won and was solidly supported to do so, with the TAB.  Mr Presutto advised that although Magneta Gold has been public trialling impressively of late and did win here on Sunday, the wagering activity did not emanate from the kennel, himself, or his owners.  Further, that although this was a city class event, the field was not overly strong and Magneta Gold made the most of an advantageous passage throughout whilst most others encountered interference.  The time of 35.12 is considered moderate.  A sample was taken for analysis.

Stewards spoke to Miss E. Wardlaw, the representative of Carry On Pendles regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Carry On Pendles last raced on 9/2/2017.Miss Wardlaw stated that the greyhound was returning from left back muscle injury.

Zipping Lady was quick to begin.  Bro Sam's Hook, Brolly Bale and Dewana Babe were slow to begin.  Brolly Bale and Dewana Babe collided soon after the start.  Barroom Counsel, Billy's Bake and Leopardstown collided on the first turn checking Barroom Counsel.  Dewana Babe and Dakini Allen collided approaching the second turn.  Barroom Counsel and Dewana Babe collided on the fourth turn.  Billy's Bake checked off Leopardstown entering the home straight.  Dakini Allen raced wide in the home straight.

Shima Song, Tito Mojito and Igor Karkaroff collided soon after the start.  Ando's Mac crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Shima Song and Tito Mojito, Tito Mojito raced wide as a result.  Tito Mojito, Igor Karkaroff and Bewildering collided on the second turn checking Tito Mojito.  Igor Karkaroff and Bewildering collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds.

Hogwarts Express and Why Not Barrel collided approaching the first turn.  Undeniably and Duff Bale collided on the first turn checking Undeniably.  Why Not Barrel raced wide on the first turn.  Mister Heeney, Pink Shoelaces and Hogwarts Express collided on the second turn severely checking Mister Heeney and Pink Shoelaces and severely checking Undeniably and Why Not Barrel as a result.

Why Not Jojo, Kalani Klare, Coolan King and Sir Richard collided soon after the start checking Why Not Jojo and Sir Richard.  Kalani Klare, Coolan King and Cairo Calling collided on the first turn checking Kalani Klare.  Sir Richard checked off Cairo Calling on the first turn. Kalani Klare, Coolan King and Cairo Calling collided on the second turn checking Kalani Klare, Cairo Calling and severely checking Coolan King and checking Why Not Jojo as a result.  Beanbag and Oppie Bale collided several times in the home straight.  Oppie Bale marred Beanbag in the home straight.

Oppie Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey, right trapezius and left front spike wound, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Pursell, the representative of the greyhound Oppie Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Oppie Bale with marring. Mr Pursell pleaded guilty to the charge, Oppie Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
