A pre-race sample was taken from Ninetymile Ace.
Don's Shy Girl and King Of Sunshine were quick to begin. Captain Pete was very slow to begin (2L). Ninetymile Ace checked off King Of Sunshine soon after the start. Senni Socks, Oh Lele Peter, Lunchmoney Lewis and Where's Savannah collided soon after the start checking Lunchmoney Lewis and Senni Socks. Don's Shy Girl checked off King Of Sunshine approaching the first turn. Don's Shy Girl, Ninetymile Ace, Where's Savannah and Oh Lele Peter collided on the first turn checking Don's Shy Girl and Where's Savannah and severely checking Ninetymile Ace. Don's Shy Girl and Where's Savannah collided on the home turn. King Of Sunshine, Lunchmoney Lewis, Captain Pete, Oh Lele Peter and Senni Socks raced wide entering the home straight.
