Peggy Olsen and Steel collided approaching the home turn checking Peggy Olson. Tat Toby checked off Peggy Olson on the home turn. Droppin' Plates raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. A. Farley, handler of Goodbye Sam regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound pursuant to GAR 51(9). 

Stewards spoke to Mrs. M. Shaw, the trainer of Big Black Rocket regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Big Black Rocket last raced on 8th December, 2016 and is returning to racing following an injury to the right hamstring.

Ms K Gorman, trainer of He's Clever, declared a new weight of 30.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). He's Clever last raced at 28.7kgs.

Big Black Rocket and He's Clever were quick to begin. Boom Flash was slow to begin.  Big Black Rocket and He's Clever collided approaching the first turn. Hector Cabang checked off Windmills on the first turn. Big Black Rocket contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Broulee Miss, Windmills, Ripsaw Ronny and Hector Cabang and severely checking Big Black Rocket. Windmills and Ripsaw Ronny collided approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again in the home straight checking Windmills.

Big Black Rocket was vetted and re-vetted following event 4. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the back and left stifle. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.

Mr B Marshall, trainer of Loris Fury, declared a new weight of 28.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2).  Loris Fury last raced at 27.1kgs.

Aston Danger which perform below market expectations was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

This event was hand started.

Bekim Fire was a late scratching at 6:23pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. J. La Rosa was fined the sum of $100.

Urana Vee Eight was slow to begin. Queen Yuan and Illusionary collided soon after the start. Tee Cee Benny and Crazed Blaze collided soon after the start. Tee Cee Benny and Who Took Johnny collided on the first turn causing Tee Cee Benny to contact the running rail. Happy Tails checked off Who Took Johnny approaching the second turn. Illusionary checked off Queen Yuna entering the back straight. Tee Cee Benny and Who Took Johnny collided several times on the third turn checking Tee Cee Benny, Happy Tails, Crazed Blaze and Urana Vee Eight and severely checking Queen Yuna and Who Took Johnny. Crazed Blaze eased and collided with Happy Tails in the home straight checking Crazed Blaze.

Urana Vee Eight was vetted and re-vetted following event 8. It was reported that the greyhound suffered thumps and a slow recovery. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Tee Cee Benny was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Mundy, the representative of the greyhound Crazed Blaze regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Crazed Blaze was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor superficial spike wound to the left fore leg, no day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Crazed Blaze with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Mundy pleaded not guilty to the charge, Crazed Blaze was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fess Crockett was very slow to begin (3L). Scarecrow Max and Shaun's Entity were slow to begin. Billy Braavos and Captain Risky collided approaching the first turn checking Captain Risky. Billy Braavos checked off Peter Yap approaching the first turn. Scarecrow Max, Critic and Quick Sensation collided on the first turn checking Scarecrow Max, Critic, Bily Braavos and Quick Sensation. Captain Risky checked off Scarecrow Max approaching the home turn. Quick Sensation and Captain Risky collided in the home straight. Critic and Peter Yap collided approaching the winning post.

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Scott Dynamism trialled over the 390mts from box 4, weight 34.2kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.64, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25L. Scott Dynamism was Cleared To Race In Blinkers. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Proven Brave trialled over the 390mts from box 1, weight 24.2kg, the greyhound took no competitive part in the event. The time of the trial was 22.64,  Proven Brave was Not Cleared. 

Trial Two

Satisfactory Trial Results - Tat Molly trialled over the 390mts from box 6, weight 28.0kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.73, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75L. Tat Molly was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Steely Sprite trialled over the 390mts from box 3, weight 29.0kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.73, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75L. Steely Sprite was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Jones, the trainer of Gordies regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Gordies last raced on 21st July 2016. Mr. Jones stated that the greyhound was returning from an extended spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Gordies trialled over the 390 from box 1, weight 33.2kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.73, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.5L. Gordies was Not Cleared.
