Steward's Report
Track Curator Mr. H. Brodie advised stewards that the track was lightly harrowed on Monday 15th February 2016.
Upon inspection of the race track prior to kennelling, Stewards were of the opinion that the track surface was inconsistent in certain areas. Remedial work was undertaken immediately. Stewards inspected the track prior to race one and deemed the surface suitable for racing.
Suspicious Lee was a late scratching at 11:01am due to injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Alouette Jack and Spooky Spook were slow to begin. Me Time and Joey Moetis collided soon after the start. Joey Moetis checked off Wilbur on the first turn and collided with Alouette Jack. Me Time checked off Marcus Daking on the first turn, checking Wilbur, Alouette Jack, Joey Moetis and Spooky Spook. Me Time and Wilbur collided approaching the home turn. Joey Moetis checked off Me Time on the home turn and collided with Spooky Spook, causing Spooky Spook to race wide. Alouette Jack and Marcus Daking collided in the home straight.
