Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mr S Gibilisco, the trainer of Paragon Diamond, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Paragon Diamond last raced on 14 December 2016 and is returning to racing after a right shoulder injury and kennel change.  Mr Gibilisco declared a new weight of 34.1 kgs in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Paragon Diamond last raced at 35.5 kgs.

Infinite Senor and Suave Odessa were quick to begin.  Paragon Diamond was slow to begin.  Infinite Senor and All Inn Africa collided soon after the start.  Suave Odessa, All Inn Africa, King Of Sunshine and Infinite Senor collided approaching the first turn, checking Infinite Senor.  All Inn Africa and Locked Out collided approaching the home turn.  All Inn Africa eased approaching the winning post and collided with Suave Odessa.

Stewards spoke to Mr T Duncan, the trainer of the greyhound All Inn Africa regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  All Inn Africa was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained tail and right hindleg spike wound injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged All Inn Africa with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Duncan pleaded guilty, All Inn Africa was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
