Steward's Report

Chase's Chance, Dr. Trojan and Taabinga Fella were slow to begin. Far Out Indian and Mum's Soul collided soon after the start checking Mum's Soul. Chase's Chance checked off Irish Mobster on the first turn and collided with Mum's Soul severely checking Chase's Chance, Mum's Soul and Dr. Trojan;  Chase's Chance stumbled as a result.  Irish Mobster and Far Out Indian collided on the first turn. 

Chase's Chance was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Steward spoke to Mrs J. McMahon the representative of Dr. Trojan regarding the amount of starts the greyhound has had for the month of January.  Mrs McMahon stated that the kennel use races as trials as the greyhound stresses out on trial days. Mrs. McMahon added that the greyhound is quiet clever and through trial and error the kennel believes that the greyhound stresses less and performs better when having to wait for his race on race night.  Dr. Trojan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Conway regarding the improved performance of Galloping Delta.  Mr. Conway stated that the greyhound injured herself in her first start and it has taken some time to get her right again, Mr Conway added that he was very pleased with her last start placing at Sandown and expected a forward showing today.   Stewards noted Mr. Conway's explanation and directed that a sample be taken.
