Steward's Report
Seven Reasons was a late scratching at 5:39pm by order of Stewards.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T Whitford regarding the circumstance surrounding the late scratching of Seven Reasons. Mr. Whitford stated that he wasn't aware the the greyhound had gained a start today. Stewards charged Mr. Whitford with a breach of GAR31. Mr. Whitford pleaded guilty to the charged and was fined the sum of $200.
Baroque Up and Hop On Black were slow to begin. Zahra Bella was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Speed And Rocket and Spritely Geared collided approaching the first turn. Spritely Geared and Darkest Beauty collided on the first turn checking Darkest Beauty and Hop On Black. Speed And Rocket faltered and tailed off on the second turn. Baroque Up and Darkest Beauty collided approaching the home turn.
Speed And Rocket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, and was humanely euthanised.
A sample was taken from Spritely Geared - 2nd placegetter in the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms D. White the handler regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Zahra Bella. Stewards directed that Zahra Bella be boxed first in future events.
