Strawbs was quick to begin. Kenilworth Road and Let's Go Racing were slow to begin. Kenilworth Road eased soon after the start. Daintree Jim and Destinee Saint collided on the first turn, checking Daintree Jim, Let's Go Racing and Destinee Saint. Johnson Arandt and Strawbs collided on the first turn, checking Daintree Jim and severely checking Strawbs. Johnson Arandt and Demo Lad collided entering the back straight, checking Demo Lad. Daintree Jim, Johnson Arandt and Destinee Saint collided several times in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Mitchell, the trainer of the greyhound Kenilworth Road regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Kenilworth Road was vetted and re-vetted following event four.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the thoracic spine, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kenilworth Road with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Mitchell pleaded guilty to the charge, Kenilworth Road was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Demo Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the thigh muscle, a twenty-one day stand down period was imposed.
