The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Quaker Bale and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:44pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr R. Camilleri was fined the sum of $100.
Walmac and Blonde Jettie were slow to begin. Hit The Gas, Marly Girl and Gold Anthem collided soon after the start, checking Hit The Gas and Marly Girl. Walmac and Hit The Gas collided several times approaching the first turn, checking Hit The Gas. Walmac checked off Marly Girl on the first turn. Dana Archie checked off Gold Anthem in the home straight, checking Marly Girl.
