Mr H.Clark, trainer of Forever Humble redeclared a new weight of 36.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Forever Humble last raced at 37.6kg.
Jorgia's Star, Nutcase Sambia and Smashing Cans were slow to begin. Forever Humble, Nutcase Sambia and Smashing Cans collided soon after the start, checking Nutcase Sambia and Smashing Cans. Jorgia's Star checked off Azza's Baby approaching the first turn, severely checking Nutcase Sambia which contacted the running rail, stumbled and lost considerable ground. Elswyk Gal checked off Shifty Joshua approaching the first turn. Shifty Joshua raced wide approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Elswyk Gal checked off Shifty Joshua on the home turn. Nutcase Sambia raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight. Smashing Cans and Elswyk Gal collided in the home straight. Nutcase Sambia eased in the home straight and tailed off as a result.
Nutcase Sambia was vetted following event 5, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr P.Romagnino, the trainer of Nutcase Sambia regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Nutcase Sambia with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Romagnino pleaded not guilty to the charge, Nutcase Sambia was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(a)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
